About SCORACLE

SCORACLE is all about predicting the scores of real sporting fixtures — simple, exciting, and addictive. Unlike traditional fantasy sports, there’s no squad to manage, no transfers to stress over, and no last-minute lineup panic. Instead, you predict the score of matches in a gameweek… and watch the points roll in (or not 👀)

Compete against your friends, challenge the wider community, and prove who really knows their sport.

Create your own league and invite others with a code, or join an existing league. A league is a group of friends, family, or colleagues. Customise the league to suit your style — from scoring systems to fun features like cash-out. Look out for bonus competitions that pop-up throughout the season too!

Competitions

SCORACLE currently covers the English Premier League and the EFL Championship, with more leagues and more countries coming soon!

SCORACLE is not limited to league based competitions - look out for other competition formats such as the Champions League, UEFA European Championships, FIFA World Cup, FA Cup, and many more.

Neither is SCORACLE limited to football. More sports are coming soon, including Cricket, Rugby, Golf, and NFL. Watch this space!

The competition selector can be found at the top of the Home page of the app.

Leagues

Leagues are how you compete with your friends and colleagues, as well as the wider SCORACLE community (should you wish to do so).

You create a league, give it a name, and choose what sort of league you want.

League Formats

Classic

The tried-and-tested format. Earn points every gameweek, watch them stack up, and climb the table over the season. Simple. Competitive. Timeless.

Head-to-Head

Every gameweek is a battle. You’re matched 1v1 against another player — the player that scores the most points wins the tie. So if you get 145 points, say, and your opponent gets 123 points, you win and get 3 points and your opponent gets 0 points (unlike Classic leagues where you would get 145 points and your opponent 123 points).

  • Win = 3 points

  • Draw = 1 point

  • Loss = 0 points

If there’s an odd number of players, one player sits out the 1v1s that week — but they still play! Their points are compared against the median score of all the other players that gameweek: beat the median for a win (3 points), match it exactly for a draw (1 point), fall short and it’s a loss (0 points).

With Head-to-Head, it’s not about total points over the season/competition — it’s about winning your matchups. Consistency is king.

Head-to-Head leagues keeps things competitive. The format makes it less likely that there will be a runaway leader, especially if the “Ladder” option is selected, where players are matched against players close to them in the table, keeping rivalries tight and comebacks alive.

Classic + Head-to-Head

Why be forced to choose between Classic and Head-to-Head when you can have both! Run both formats at once — one set of predictions powers both your season-long league position and your weekly head-to-head battles.

Double the competition. Double the bragging rights.

Scoring Systems

The choice of scoring system can add a whole new twist to your predictions.

Fixed Scoring

Keeps things nice and simple:

  • 40 points for an exact score

  • 10 points for the correct result

  • 0 points otherwise

Every match counts the same.

Risk & Reward

With Risk & Reward scoring, you will be well-rewarded for going against the crowd and trusting your gut because points vary based on how unlikely your prediction is:

  • Safe picks = lower points

  • Big calls = big rewards

Nail an upset? You’ll be flying up the table.

Close Call (optional)

So close it hurts? Enable Close Call to award partial points for near-misses — perfect for rewarding brave predictions that almost came off. Picture the scene… Arsenal are hot favourites to beat Wolves, but you see it differently. You feel a big upset is on the cards, and you back your instincts with a 3-0 Wolves win prediction. It finishes 3-1 to Wolves. So close! You might not have got the exact score, but you don't deserve to walk away empty-handed. The closer you are, the more points you earn.

Play The Odds

One for the strategists.

Each gameweek, you get a pot of stake points (default: 100). Use them however you like. Back multiple matches or go all-in on that fixture that you know in your gut is going to be a 5-5 draw!

Similar to Risk & Reward, unlikely scorelines come with big odds. Choose safe bets or chase the big win. Your winnings (stake × odds) become your score.

It’s prediction meets strategy.

Cash Out (optional)

That risky prediction is looking like it just might become a reality. But there are 10 minutes to go and you are feeling the pressure - it’s all or nothing. Or is it?

If cash-out is enabled for the league, you can lock in points before the final whistle. Play it safe… or let it ride. SCORACLE will calculate cash-out offers based on current score, team strengths, and time left in the match.

Note: Cash-out isn’t available when using Risk & Reward with Close Call.

Making Predictions

Obviously you love SCORACLE, and so have found yourself in several leagues - family, the work lot, the other work lot, the golf lot, … . With 10 fixtures every EPL gameweek, that’s a lot of predictions to enter. Luckily for you. SCORACLE helps you out by letting you make one set of predictions and have them apply to every league you’re in for that competition.

Want to try something different in a specific league? Override your prediction just for that league.

SCORACLE will always use your override (if set), or your global prediction (if not). So you’re always covered — no missed predictions, no lost points.

Global Predictions with Play the Odds Scoring System

Don’t worry, SCORACLE handles this too.

Your global predictions automatically enter you into every league — including Play the Odds. If you haven't placed your own bets in a PTO league, your global picks become bets at each match's kickoff. Your remaining stake pot for the week is split evenly across your picks, and each bet is placed at the odds available at kickoff.

Want more control? Just place a bet yourself in the league — your own bet always takes priority for that match, and the automatic stakes rebalance across your remaining picks.
